Beef Stew With Potatoes (Potato Goulash)

The beef stew with potatoes has a mellow taste. After the potatoes absorb the beef soup, the meat has a strong aroma. It’s a very delicious home-cooked dish.

  • Beef  500g

How to make Beef Stew with potatoes (the newest recipe)

STEP 1: Soaking the Beef

Soak in cold water for 15-20 minutes so that the residual blood can be soaked (you can omit this step in a hurry).


STEP 2: Cook the Beef only for 3-5 minutes

Blanch the meat in a pot in cold water and start to cook, the meat will be tight in hot water, and then please take out three to five minutes after the water boils.


STEP 3: Prepare some spices

This step is also very simple, prepare scallions or onions and garlic granules for use. The onions are used here instead of scallions.


STEP4: Stiring-fry and Stew

Heat the oil and add the shallots and garlic until fragrant, and then fry the beef in the pan. In this step, I will add 1 tablespoon of thirteen incense, 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of cooking wine, half teaspoon of white vinegar, half tablespoon of dark soy sauce, seven single crystal rock sugar or Eight grains, (half a teaspoon of salt and stew for about an hour before putting it in, the meat will not be cooked well in advance).

After stirring evenly, add boiling water. Since the beef needs to be stewed for 1.40 hours later, if you are worried that the soup is not enough, adding more in the middle will affect the taste, so you can add more at the beginning.


STEP5: Puting in all the spices

After adding water or soup, in this step, you need to put 7 pieces of ginger, 1 piece of aniseed, half of cinnamon, 3 pieces of bay leaves, put them in the pot, and simmer for 1.40 hours on medium heat, it is worth noting that at one hour With salt.


STEP6: Add the potatoes

Put the potatoes in at 1 hour and 20 minutes. It should be noted that the potato pieces should not be cut too large, because they are not tasty or cooked well.

STEP7: Stew for another 20 minutes

Stew the potatoes for another 20 minutes.   And whenIt looks like the potatoes are sticky and the soup is basically gone, then you can take it out of the pot and enjoy it!

  • If it is stewed with an electric pressure cooker, when the soup is almost gone, put the beef and various seasonings in the pressure cooker.
  • After it is cooked, put it on a plate, and stew the potatoes again, but remember Do not put the potatoes in the pressure cooker or they will mash!
